Documentary Film on Self-Administration of the Local Communities
During a transition period to self-administration, the community’s inherent strength and its desire for change from the inside are the key drivers that would push forward the local economic, social, and cultural developments. On the left bank of the Chao Phraya River, one of the old entertainment area such as Nang Loeng, has shown that it can maintain its spirit when the local youth have jointly taken charge in the community’s management and development through the art projects. The art projects in the Kadi Chin community on the right bank of the Chao Phraya, the Thonburi side, include diverse ethnic and religious groups and serve as examples of the possible involvement in the community by the government and the private sector. Makkasan Community in Bangkok shows that the green ideology such as the demand for public green space does not conflict with progress and development for better living.
