Levi revolutionize the jeans manufacturing industry by developing an innovative process that requires 96% less water than before in manufacturing its new collection: the Waste<Less jeans. Each Waste<Less jean is made from about eight plastic bottles or 20% of the material required. The bottles are crushed into flakes, made into polyester fibers, and blended with cotton fibers. These are woven together with cotton yarn to make Levi’s patented special denim cloth. Today, the material, shape and collection of jeans might no longer decide what is cool as wasteful use of resources is becoming obsolete and this is the reason behind Levi’s new eco-friendly style for its new collection.
