Apart from having attractive shapes and colors which influence consumers’ buying decision, packaging protects products in storage, in transportation, and on sale. It also provides information about the products and facilitates the use of products for consumers before being discarded when no longer useful.

An Exhibition by Material ConneXion® Bangkok

Apart from having attractive shapes and colors which influence consumers’ buying decision, packaging protects products in storage, in transportation, and on sale. It also provides information about the products and facilitates the use of products for consumers before being discarded when no longer useful.

Packaging waste, however, takes a long time to decompose and has become a burden to manage causing environmental problems. Since a lot of packaging is related to manufacturing and consuming processes, green concepts are therefore applied in order to develop materials for packaging which are more environmentally friendly.

In order to mitigate environmental impact from packaging waste, manufacturers, designers, business owners, as well as consumers should make choices to manage packaging waste with understanding and environmental awareness. The choices provided in this exhibition are just some of the collective efforts to transform bad-for-environment packaging into eco-friendly packaging.

Each individual may have different choices, but no matter what your choices are, the future of the world is everyone’s responsibility.
