The Databases (Mini Exhibition)
|When||05 June - 05 August 2012 | 10:30-21:30|
|Where||TCDC Resource Center, Material ConneXion Bangkok|
In our digital age, if you want to learn about anything, a simple google search will likely give you more information than you know what to do with. But is “common knowledge” really what you are looking for? Is there a way to dig deeper?
TCDC Resource Center and Material ConneXion Bangkok present a mini-exhibition about four specialised databases currently available to members. These databases direct you to the special search engine which deepens your range of knowledge in four dimensions: art, design, business and material. We believe that the better the knowledge, the better the design quality.
Art and Design Databases: Kick-start your design inspiration with ARTbibliographies Modern (ABM) and Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI), the sources of many abstracts from top journals and magazines worldwide.
Marketing and Business Database: Global Market Information Database (GMID) supplies you with in-depth business facts: from statistic data about various aspects of each country to information about market size of over 330 consumer products in 52 countries, lifestyle analysis and consumer behaviour which influence the market, including the specific data of consumer product companies which are the market leaders, grow rapidly, and operate nationally, regionally and internationally.
Materials Database: Material ConneXion® Online Database is the world’s most comprehensive resource for advanced, innovative materials and processes. Currently it comprises more than 6,500 materials – and growing at a rate of 30-40 materials per month. These materials are selected by international experts from various industries and design disciplines. The database provides material descriptions, usage characteristics and manufacturer contact information which can answer your material related questions.
