Creative Seating: From Conceptualization to Productionis an exhibit of finalists from the Creative Seating Competition of seating design for the library and the creative space in TCDC Bangkok that encourages exchange of ideas and business networking.The finalists exhibited in this exhibition represent the design process. The corresponding relationship between product design and production - materials, production process and cost - is also taken into account as thefinalist designers revised their designs to best suit the actual usage and production.

W(H)OLE (Winner)
Designed by Boonmee Sukprasertchai, Wuthichai Leelavoravong, and Siriporn Kobnithikulwong
Concept: The highlights of this simple yet extraordinary W(h)ole Chair are a small hole in the legs and other parts that can be adjustable toward the needs of all users: single users,
small groups and large groups.

Layer Chair (Highly Commended)
Designed by Ath Supornchai
Concept: the Layer Chair components were reduced to only necessary parts to respond to the needs of users.

Move (Highly Commended)
Designed by Doonyapol Srichan
Concept: the Move Chair was inspired by a motor of a long-tail boat in order to be in response to TCDC Bangkok atmosphere along the Chao Phraya River.

Show Me Bar
Designed by Kanittha Jantharawise
Concept:the triangle shape seen from every angle represents the Show Me Bar clear design language which makes the chair outstanding from the others.

Phing
Designed by Warin Thanathawee
Concept: the value of the local-wisdom characteristics is hidden behind this contemporary Phing Chair.

Anywhere
Designed by Worapong Manupipatpong and Ada Chirakranont
Concept: the Anywhere Chair was designed to be adjustable to suit activities in each area by adding additional parts to the chair structure.

Neuberg
Designed by Kamonsin Chathurattaphol
Concept: the Neuberg Chair was design to be the chair thatencourages conversation and make friends with new people.


About Creative Seating Competition
The Creative Seating Competition was held in March 2016 with the aim to support and promote the potential of designers as well as connecting potential creative work with the real sector. The winning design will be manufactured and used at TCDC Bangkok. The competition is incorporated with Practika Co., Ltd. in organizing a training workshop for the designer contestants and manufacturing the prototype chairs.
