On Sunday 8 August, enjoy lively jazz music by StoneHead featuring OMAH at Creative Space, Kiosk.

The core group of OMAH features “Aon” Pisut Prateeprasena on Tenor Saxophone, “Maew” Pongsiri Kajornvaekin on Guitar, “Oa” Pornchart Viriyapark on Acoustic Bass and “Hong” Chanutr Teachatananan on drums. These four young jazz musicians formed a band in 2006 and continue to get stronger and more inspired as time passes.

The repertoire OMAH plays includes both jazz standards and refreshing originals. The band is considered one of imagination and creativity. OMAH brings new arrangements with new harmonies and rhythms to the compositions combined with masterful improvisation. They look forward to bringing a refreshing jazz perspective to you and sharing the continuing tradition of imagination and forethought in modern jazz.

Fueled by his passion for jazz music, Nakarin Teerapenun, leader of T-Bone – a Thai ska-reggae band, formed StoneHead in 2003. Apart from Nakarin, band members have revolved over the years depending on the “mood and tone” Nakarin wants to achieve in his performances.

Currently, StoneHead comprises Nakarin’s fellow jazz aficionados, some of whom are the creme de la creme of jazz music grads who were hand-picked by Nakarin. The band has performed overseas on several occasions between 2004-2008, particularly in the UK and Japan. They were also a part of “Ramakien – A Rak Opera”, the project which took them to the stage at Lincoln Center, New York, in 2006, where they performed with the world’s leading avant-garde jazz guitarist and composer, Arto Lindsey.

StoneHead also loves touring around Thailand, as they enjoy meeting and jamming with other musicians, especially Thai upcoming jazz artists.

StoneHead’s current band members are:
Nakarin Teerapenun – Guitar (Lecturer, Jazz Guitar and Jazz Studies, Silpakorn University)
Teerus Laohverapanich – Saxophone (Lecturer, Jazz Saxophone and Jazz Studies, Ragsit University)
Akekapon Thamprakob – Bass (Teaching Assistant, Bass, Silpakorn University)
Aswin Narintragul Na Ayudhaya – Drums (Teaching Assistant, Drums, Mahidol University)
