TCDC, the Japan Foundation, Bangkok and NPO Plus Arts jointly present a lecture by Masashi Sogabe, an architect, professor at Kanagawa University and the Exhibition Space Director of the exhibition “Always Prepare: Living with Changes”.

Sogabe has contributed a lot of public and commercial architecture for companies, organisations and art festivals. In this lecture, he will introduce his recent experimental architecture, inspired by the social transition taking place in Japan after the catastrophic earthquake in 1995.

He will also discuss the role of architect in Japan, where the population has been rapidly decreasing in the last few years and further economic growth cannot be expected. He will introduce some case examples of his unique and new trials on how to make use of the transformation.

This lecture is held as part of “Always Prepare: Living with Changes”, an exhibition by TCDC in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, Bangkok and Japanese non-profit organisation Plus Arts.
