Find the inspiration in creating work piece and learn the art of contemporary jewelry design with Jiro Kamata, an international contemporary jewelry designer and artist. Jiro is going to introduce his background, his work, his thinking, designing and working process, his time at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, his contemporary Jewelry exhibitions, his source of Inspirations, the Journey, lights, reflections and the sun.

Jiro Kamata
, an international contemporary jewelry designer and artist, was born in Hirosaki, Japan in 1978.  After completing his initial professional trianing in jewelry and gemology in Japan, he decided to travel to Germany to find his inspirations as well as to open himself up to new opportunities.  He first went to Pfozheim,  the forefront city in the jewelry industry to spend one year studying at a university there.  After that he joined the prominant jewelry artist Otto Kunzli as a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.  After completing his study in 2006 Jiro has been creating series of contemporary jewelry with very strong identity.  He has shown his work through many international exhibitions.  His work can be seen in many publications on contemporary jewelry as well as in public collections at design museums.  This year Jiro lauched a new series inspired by his travel to Chile – FLARE.  Jiro now lives and works in Munich, Germany.
