25 July 2013 / 18:00 – 20:00
Auditorium, TCDC

Get to know Naoki Terada, the Japanese architecture who created “Terada Mokei”, 1/100 scale paper models for architectural design. Terada’s models reflect the identity of world’s major cities; Tokyo, New York and Amsterdam, including a newly launched special model of “Bangkok” which displays the symbols of Thailand such as Tuk Tuk, public motorcycle, and street food through the perspective of this brilliant Japanese architect. In this lecture, Terada will talk about the idea and concept of Terada Mokei with video.

Terada Mokei
Terada Mokei was established with a view to exploring the potential for modeling, which is created by scaling things down and giving them detail, through models. This reflects our belief that when real items are replaced with models, the latter have an essence of reality, stuffed with dreams, and the potential to become more vibrant than their originals. Tarada also considers it important to enjoy the process of assembling models and hopes to convey the fun of assembling models and playing with your imagination.
